Aerial platform - K2B
The K2B aerial platform is our fourth generation UAV. It is based upon the experience gathered since 2004 in the design and manufacture of high performance tactical range unmanned aircrafts for civil and security applications.
K2B Description
Our K2B platform provides maximum flexibity to satisfy the most diverse requirements
Mission flexibility: three different wingspan configurations
Sharing most of the systems and a large part of the airframe, our platforms can be supplied in three different configurations.
- 4m wingspan flight platform: Provides more agile operation with greater manoeuvrability.
- 5m wingspan flight platform: A balanced compromise for all-purpose situations.
- 6m wingspan flight platform: Greater MTOW, high aerodinamic efficiency, slower flighting capabilities and extended range.

Payload installation flexibility: Internal and external payload installation
- Internal: The interior of the fuselage has an spacious bench sized with enough capacity to support the designed maximum weight load.
- External: In addition, there are 4 or 6 external anchor points distributed along its wingspan (depending on configuration) and another anchor point on the empennage.

Engine flexibility: Optimize performance
It is possible to adapt the plaform for various engine configurations and use specific fairings adjusted to the characteristics of each power plant. Thus, performance can be optimized in accordance with the specific mission to be performed.

Engineering flexibility: Customize every detail of your platform
The existence of a full digital model, included with the purchase of our vehicles, facilitates system integration of mission equipment and further customization of each and every aspect of the platform.

Main features
Power plant
The platform can be adapted to use several powerplants available on the market. Powerplant is mounted on shock absorbers, minimizing the transfer or vibrations to the airframe. The current default powerplant supplied with the system has the following main specifications:
- Two cylinder, Boxer, 2T engine with dual plugs in each cylinder and 13.6 kW maximum mechanical output.
- Displacement: 156 cm3.
- Fuel: Gas 98 octane / 1:50.
- Redundant ignition.
- Propreller: Tractor.
Fuel system
K2B vehicles can be supplied with various fuel tanks for maximum flexibility. All these tanks are protected by an anti-fire system with appropriate drainage points provided. A main filter is also included near the engine. Filling the tanks does not require any additional system. There are three main fuel configurations available:
- Maximum range: Auxiliary internal tank in the fuselage. Provides maximum endurance at the expense of reducing the available payload space in the internal bay.
- Maximum load: Fuel tanks built inside the wings. With limited fuel capacity, this configuration provides the maximum available space and payload weight.
- Optimal compromise: Employing the internal wing tanks plus external suspended tanks provides both maximum load capacity and endurance.
Electrical system
K2B platforms are supplied with an installed electrical system with the following characteristics:
- Power generator supplies up to 2,000 W of electrical power.
- Electric power bus protected by independent fuses to power the various devices. All vehicle functions are combined into a single multipolar connector that allows changing flight control and on-board subsystems without modifying the vehicle or its equipments.
- Cables and connectors used are either aeronautical quality shielded cables for signals or high-conductivity copper cables, with siliconed insultations for electrical power distribution.
- Safety devices include fuses and fire-retardant wire sheating.
Servo mechanisms
K2B class vehicles are equipped with high-end standard size servomechanisms designed for use in large, high performance vehicles. For example, the HS-7955TG is a high strength servo with water and fuelproof casing, made of metal with titanium gear drive and programmable microprocessor. It includes an involuntary blocking protection system. Servomechanisms are powerd through an auxiliary 6V-100W regulation unit used indepently from the rest of the system.
Electronic switches
For switch-controlled functions, the vehicle is equipped with RCAT110 electronic switches able to switch tensions up to 10A at 30V with a luminous status indicator and an independent activation circuit, based on a PWM type signal.
Autopilot operation
Vehicles are prepared to work with high-end autopilot systems.
RC equipment
The vehicle can be operated in manual mode to perform tests or in aeromodelling configuration. A model FX30 computerized console is included with the system. This console uses 2.4 GHz FASST technology that can emit a maximum of 100 mW EIRP power, enough to cover the distance allowed for unrestricted use of the 2.4 Ghz band.
Auxiliary systems
In addition, K2B vehicles include a number of auxiliary systems:
- Ground holding system: The main landing gear of K2B vehicles has an hydraulical braking system operated by a servomechanism. The system allows for safe taxiing and full holding at the holding point and post-land holding.
- Position and anticollision lights: Ultralight low-consuption, LED technology based system. Each unit is sealed and fully resistant to water, vibrations and other environmental effects. As with the other systems, lighting is operated with a switch based on a PWM type signal.
- Parachute: Pneumatical powered ballistic parachute with a pressure control manometer. The parachute is operated by a servomechanism. For security reasons radio control activation of the parachute is protected with a codified trigger system to avoid accidental deployment of the parachute.
- Acoustic alarm: A 90-decibel acoustic horn is activated as desired and automatically during engine starting, platform taxiing and in emergency situations such as when the parachute is fired.
- Radio beacon: Frequency 869.9 MHz radio beacon with up to 2 km on-land and 8 km in-air range (manufacturer specifications) allows localizing the system if accidentally lost. It is powered indepently and will transmit for up to 70 days.
